ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Former NFL quarterback Jim Kelly is teaming up with the Farrelly brothers, best known as the writers and directors of Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary, to launch a TV production company in Rochester.
The company, called Fifth Year Productions will create content for TV stations nationwide and is expected to eventually hire 100 people.
"I'm really excited to help bring a company like this to Western New York," said Kelly. "The Farrelly Brothers have created so many unforgettable films, and to now to have them help create this kind of opportunity in our area is pretty exciting."
Bob Bartosiewicz of CGI Communications is also involved with the venture. He says they've bought four additional floors of the downtown Rochester Granite Building.
The plan is to hire 10 employees every month until mid-2010, when Fifth Year's projects will be ready for air.
Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly is also involved in the endeavor.
