2009-09-21

(September 21, 2009) WXOS-FM announces that the radio station will be adding former St. Louis Rams Defensive Tackle La'Roi Glover to their lineup, as a part of 101 ESPN's exclusive St. Louis Rams programming, shows and online content.
Glover will be a co-host on the "Rams Rush Hour" Show with Brian Stull every Friday night from 7-8pm. He will also join "The Bernie Miklasz Show" every Monday as part of the station's "Rams Monday" coverage. La'Roi will also contribute to the station's online content by writing a weekly blog for the Rams section on 101 ESPN.com.

"I am excited and fortunate to be working with Brian Stull and Bernie Miklasz, covering the St. Louis Rams this year on 101 ESPN," notes Glover. "I look forward to being part of a GREAT team and my goal is to provide great coverage and analysis on the Rams as they try to regain their position atop the NFC West." La'Roi adds, "I cannot wait to get started!"

An NFL standout for 12 years, La'Roi Glover was selected as the 34th pick in the fifth round of the National Football League Draft in 1996. Throughout his tenure as a defensive tackle in the NFL, Glover experienced great success. He has played for several teams including the St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and the New Orleans Saints. During his career he has enjoyed such honors as the New Orleans Saints "Man of the Year" and "Unsung Hero" awards; 2000 New Orleans Saints Defensive MVP award; six Pro Bowl titles and the Ram's 2007 "Walter Payton Man of the Year". Known for his passion and knowledge of the game, Glover was considered one of the best players at his position during his time in the National Football League.

101 ESPN Program Director Jason Barrett notes, "I was very impressed with La'Roi's analyst skills when he stepped in for Coach Hanifan during the Rams pre-season broadcasts, and I'm thrilled to add him to our roster." Barrett continues, "He's another strong voice that understands the ins and outs of what happens on the football field and inside the locker room, and I look forward to having him contribute to 101 ESPN.com, the "Rams Rush Hour" and "The Bernie Miklasz Show".

John Kijowski, Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group Vice President and Market Manager, adds, "With his extensive experience playing for so many NFL teams and organizations, La'Roi Glover brings a unique perspective to our broadcast team. His depth of experience and knowledge about the game, the league and in particular, the Rams will extend our overall level of expertise, both on the air and online."
