Fox NFL broadcaster and pro football hall of famer Howie Long has signed a three-year endorsement deal with State Farm Insurance. Long is the first NFL spokesman to be paired with the insurer's year-old NFL corporate sponsorship, which includes the first presenting sponsorship to the Pro Bowl.

Long also appears in seven ads for
Chevy Trucks in NFL rotation this year.
Initially, Long will be the face of a ?Your Game, Your Call? promo kicking off in November that will offer consumers the chance to win trips to the Pro Bowl, where they can meet Long. OMD?s Optimum Sports and The Marketing Arm/Millsport are teaming on the effort.

Long is already pitching for State Farm on TV to some degree since he is in the ?State Farm Covers the Field? segment on Fox?s NFL pregame show, in which the hosts demonstrate on a small football field what happens during NFL games. Fox also has rights to Super Bowl XLII in Arizona in February and the Pro Bowl the following week, giving Long even more endorsement cachet this season.

Steve Rosner and Brian Nelson of 16W Marketing, Rutherford, N.J., negotiated the deal for Long.

Long also endorses Chevy Trucks, which has seven ads with him in NFL rotation this year, and Motorola. Over the years, Long has appeared in more than 100 ads for RadioShack, many of which paired him with actress Teri Hatcher.
