Top NFL draft prospect and University of Virginia defensive end Chris Long has signed with veteran agent Marvin Demoff after an agent search conducted by sports marketer Steve Rosner, the longtime agent for Chris? father, NFL hall of famer and Fox NFL analyst Howie Long.

Rosner, a partner and co-founder of Rutherford, N.J.-based sports marketing firm 16W Marketing, not only will act as Chris Long?s marketing agent but also will oversee his business affairs on a day-to-day basis, after representing Howie Long for 15 years.

Chris Long is ranked No. 2 on a mock draft by Web site NFLDraftBlitz.com and is ranked No. 3 by ESPN draft prognosticator Mel Kiper Jr.

Chris Long selected Demoff, one of the most respected agents in the business, after Rosner and the Long family interviewed five NFL agents, Rosner said. He declined to name the other agents.

Howie Long, in a statement to SportsBusiness Journal, said, ?Even though I have not worked with him personally, I have admired the work [Demoff] has done with the Elways, Marinos, and Seaus and the respect he has gained in the NFL community over a long period of time, not an easy thing to do.?
