Kordell Stewart is currently a football analyst on the rise as well as a former NFL quarterback.

Not only does Stewart currently serve as a lead football analyst on ESPN’s College Football Overdrive, he recently was made part of the broadcast team for the newly formed, United Football League. Stewart will join Doug Flutie, Dave Sims, and Anita Marks to form an energetic weekly broadcast on the Versus Network.

Kordell also makes regular guest appearances on ESPN’s First Take and has appeared on Deal or No Deal and Pros vs. Joes.

Having been a quarterback in the NFL, Kordell is able to draw on his playing experience on a day-to-day basis in his work as a broadcaster.

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft, Kordell immediately became a fan-favorite during his time in Pittsburgh. Due to his ability to play a variety of positions, he was given the nickname, “Slash.”

Kordell became the team’s starting quarterback in 1997, leading the team to an 11-5 record and the AFC Championship Game.

In 2001, Stewart had his best season in the NFL. He threw for over 3,000 yards in leading the Steelers back to the AFC Championship Game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl Champion, New England Patriots. That season he was selected to the AFC Pro Bowl Team and was voted the Pittsburgh Steelers Team MVP by his teammates.

Stewart holds the record for longest run from the line of scrimmage (80 yards) by a quarterback and his 38 rushing touchdowns ranks second all-time among NFL quarterbacks behind Steve Young.

Kordell played his collegiate career at University of Colorado, where he holds all-time records for most completions (456), most passing yards (6,418), and most touchdown passes (33). At Colorado, he is most remembered for the “Miracle at Michigan,” a 64-yard Hail Mary touchdown to Michael Westbrook in the closing seconds to help beat the University of Michigan.

Stewart is a proud supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

He is currently married with a son, Syre, and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
