Western & Southern Names Cris Collinsworth National Spokesperson

CINCINNATI, May 29, 2013 — /PRNewswire/ — Western & Southern Financial Group (Western & Southern) has signed a multi-year agreement with Cris Collinsworth to become its national spokesperson.

Collinsworth was an All-American wide receiver at the University of Florida before joining the Cincinnati Bengals in 1981. After eight seasons, two Super Bowl appearances and three Pro Bowls, Collinsworth retired and began a very successful career in broadcasting.

NFL ‘Hall of Famer’ Howie Long to Speak at Bally Technologies’ Systems User Conference 10

Long joined the Los Angeles Raiders as a second-round draft choice in 1981. He spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Raiders and is regarded as one of the best defensive lineman to play the game. Long helped the Raiders to a Super Bowl XVIII win by posting a career-best 13 sacks and registering five Super Bowl tackles. He was voted by fans as the 1984 and 1986 Defensive Lineman of the Year and was named 1984 NFL Defensive Lineman of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association. Long also holds the AFC Pro Bowl record with nine-and-a-half career sacks. In 2000, Long was inducted into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.

 

The celebrated athlete began his network sports television career in 1994 as an NFL studio analyst for Fox NFL Sunday and is considered one of the top NFL analysts. He received an Emmy Award for his work last season as Outstanding Sports Personality/Analyst. Long co-starred in the 1995 action-adventure film, Broken Arrow, starring John Travolta and Christian Slater; and starred in the 1998 motion picture Firestorm.

 

Long will deliver the keynote address at 6:30 p.m. EDT on June 5.

Congrats to Collinsworth, a 14th Emmy!

Cris Collinsworth won his 14th Sports Emmy last night — and his fifth consecutive for Outstanding Sports Personality-Sports Event Analyst – for his work on NBC’s top-rated “Sunday Night Football.”

 

The Emmy collection at his Fort Thomas home also includes wins in 2007 and 2008 as best Studio Analyst for NBC’s “Football Night in America.”

 

The NBC Sports Group won 11 Sports Emmy Awards last night in New York, the most of any sports media company for the third straight year.

 

NBC was honored for the London Summer Olympics (five Emmys, including Outstanding Live Event Turnaround); Super Bowl XLVII (Outstanding Live Sports Special); “Sunday Night Football” (fifth consecutive award for Outstanding Live Sports Series); and individual awards for Bob Costas, Al Michaels, Pierre McGuire and Collinsworth.

 

Collinsworth still has a way to go to catch up with Costas, who received his 25th career Emmy and fifth consecutive for Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Host. He hosted the London Olympics, and hosts “Football Night in America” and NBC Sports Network’s ”Costas Tonight.”

 

Michaels won Outstanding Sports Personality – Play-by-Play, his seventh career Emmy.
